Theia offers the Libre 2, The Libre 3 sensor & the Dexcom G7 sensor in the United States. In Canada, we offer the Libre 2 sensor (Libre 3 is not currently available in Canada and is geo-locked to the US). We also offer the ability for customers to bring their own sensor purchased outside of Theia.
About the Libre 3 Sensor
The Libre 3 is the smallest all-in-one sensor available, roughly the size of a penny, that contains both the sensor and transmitter in a single unit. No additional hardware is required as your cellphone will act as the receiver.
- Sensor Life: The Libre 3 sensors last for 14 days each. Theia will support any issues that may occur with this sensor, including replacement processing if applicable.
- Application: The sensor application process is quick and painless. You will receive an applicator as a part of their shipment and will need to simply click the sensor into place on the back of their arm. The sensor will take 60 minutes to warm up after application before it will begin reading glucose data.
- Data & Transmission: The Libre 3 sensor reads glucose in real-time from the interstitial fluids (cellular fluids) and transmits the data to your client's phone via Bluetooth. The Libre 3 app will need to be always open and your client's phone will need to be within Bluetooth range (roughly 30 feet).
- Data Storage: The Libre 3 can store up to 8 hours of data in case of any issues with the transmission.
- Calibration: For customers who would like to augment their sensor readings with blood prick data they will be able to do so from within the Theia app. View this article for calibration steps.
